"Bushiki-juku" originally established practice program and techniques especially for people who are not phisically strong and children, based on Judo and Aiki-do.
We mainly practice the following techniques.
"Reihou(Manners)": Bow, How to sit properly, postures etc.
"Ukemi(Breakfall)": How to fall down safely, how to protect yourself when falling down
"Kumiuchi": Throwings and holing opponents, like Judo and Aiki-dou
For more advanced students we also practice,
"Atemi": Punching and kicking, like Karate
"Weapons": Sword and Sticks, like Kendo and Jyodo
At the beginning, we practice manners(Reihou) and breakfalls(Ukemi). Bushiki-juku put value on those (but this doesn't mean they are complicated). So you can start practicing gradually without pain or injuary.
We also practice simple throwing techniques We mainly focus on techniques with holding gi(jacket) like judo techniques, so that you can also practice breakfalls. You can enjoy them step by step, at your pace.
After the above, when you get used to the practice, we will proceed to more techniques.
Our value is self-control and caring others, not winning competitions or being strong on street fight.
We can practice at your pace. Please feel free to try it out.
